Thanksgiving and Campervan

USA

Thanksgiving is a national holiday celebrated in the United States and Canada on the fourth Thursday in November. In the United States, it is a day to give thanks for the blessings of the past year and to spend time with family and friends.

The origins of Thanksgiving can be traced back to the early 17th century, when the first European settlers in America, known as the Pilgrims, held a feast to celebrate a successful harvest. The Pilgrims were a religious group who had fled England in search of religious freedom, and they had arrived in America in 1620 on the ship Mayflower. Their first winter in America was difficult, and many of them died from disease and starvation. However, the following spring, the Pilgrims were helped by the Wampanoag, a local Native American tribe, who taught them how to grow crops such as corn, beans, and pumpkins.

The first Thanksgiving feast was held in the autumn of 1621, and it is believed to have lasted for three days. The Pilgrims invited the Wampanoag tribe to join them for the feast, and it is said that they shared wild turkey, venison, fish, berries, fruits, and pumpkin pie.

In the United States, Thanksgiving is traditionally celebrated with a large family meal, often featuring a roasted turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, and cranberry sauce. Pumpkin pie is also a common dessert.

The day after Thanksgiving, known as "Black Friday", is also a major shopping day in the United States, as many retailers offer special promotions and sales.

Thanksgiving is also celebrated in Canada, though it is observed on the second Monday in October. The Canadian celebration is similar to the American one, with a focus on family gatherings and large meals.

I know that thanksgiving is mostly spent indoors but to have new perspective of things, especially that we have been cooped up in our houses for how long, a nice camping thanksgiving activity should do the trick. Afterall, thanksgiving is about giving thanks to all the blessings we had all received, all counting even the simpliest and smallest ones as they matter most. And of course, the good health that we always pray for.

The Sprinter Campervan can give you that extra holiday feel of something extra special. Just think of it, you can go to the beach during the day and stay the night at a park’s campsite then you’ll be spending your thanksgiving in two places or more, whatever or wherever you prefer, because the Sprinter Campervan is there to meet your needs and offer youthe same comforts you experience at home.
